Drew Gammon

I am Drew Gammon from Smithfield, NC. I have been into fitness since High School in traditional gyms, personal training, 5ks, mudruns, and any other challenging activities I could find. After a few years of going to the gym and doing the same workouts over and over (while spending half the time talking or on the phone) I saw the CrossFit Games on tv and thought it looked interesting so I tried a workout the next day...needless to say I was hooked! I kept CrossFitting everyday for a few years and finally decided I enjoyed CrossFit and the community more than working, so I opened CrossFit 4042 in June of 2013 and have been loving every minute since!

Amy Locklear

My name is Amy Locklear. I am a mother of 3, and married to Mitchell Locklear. I have been in the fitness industry since 2008 working as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. I love trying new things and that is how I began CrossFit. I was introduced to CrossFit in 2012 and honestly did not like it, It was very different than anything else I had done in the past but I opened my mind and gave it a chance. Within the first month I was hooked. I truly enjoy helping people reach their fitness goals. Inspiring and motivating people is a passion for me.

Kim Barham

Kimberly Barham is a mother of 2, wife and Avid Crossfitter.  She has a 20yr background in bodybuilding and has completed several 1/2 and full marathons.  She joined 4042 in June 2013 and immediately became addicted to the style and philosophy of Crossfit. She found that the positive, high intensity environment helped her both physically and mentally, in her fitness, professional and personal lives. She continues to challenge herself by setting bigger goals, in hopes to be a strong role model by helping others, reach and even possibly pushing them beyond their fitness goals.

Cody Patrick

My name is Cody Patrick. I'm a husband and a father of 2 boys. I've been doing CrossFit for almost 7 years now, and coaching for 6 of them. Like many others, CrossFit totally changed my life and gave me a new sense of purpose to share my experience with others.

I Crossfit because.....I want to live a long and healthy life so I may enjoy my family for as long as possible. I enjoy pushing myself to try things I thought weren't possible. Blending the gymnastics with the Olympic lifting got me hooked on the program.


I coach because.....I love helping people change their life in such a way that not only are the daily tasks performed easier, but the person develops a higher sense of confidence and self esteem.


My favorite cheat meal....I'll either have a Bacon Cheeseburger on steriods from Bad Daddy's Burger Bar and Grill, or a bowl full of granola and milk.

Cory Merle

My name is Cory Merle. I am a Physical Education teacher at a local elementary school. I have been involved with athletics my entire life, from playing 3 sports in high school to coaching youth ice hockey. I was originally introduced to crossfit in college at App State (go neers!) where I fell in love with the intensity and variation of exercises. Teaching at the elementary level, I quickly realized how little kids know about how to move correctly. I love introducing movements like the squat and burpees to kids because they're essential movements that can be used throughout their lifetime.

I CrossFit because....I love to push myself. It is amazing how far our bodies and minds can be pushed if we have the desire to better ourselves.

Heather Gammon

My name is Heather Gammon; I am a mom of two amazing kids and an avid Crossfit Hobbyist! Before joining the box I was a stay at home mom and was not really into fitness;  I joined Crossfit4042 on a whim in 2013, and haven't looked back since!

Matthew Rollins

Matthew Rollins My name is Matthew Rollins. I am a husband to Jenny. I am a Firefighter/Paramedic and have been involved in emergency services for almost 7 years. I was introduced to Crossfit when a guy named Cody Patrick invited me to take one of his classes. By the end of class I was laying on the floor sweaty and short of breath, but thinking "that was awesome!" I have been chasing that sense of accomplishment every day since. I love being a part of Crossfit 4042 and the worldwide Crossfit community because it allows people from all skill levels to train side-by-side and reach their unique goals with the support of their peers.


Credentials: CrossFit Level 1

I Crossfit because.....My job often has extreme physical demands and I always want to be able to meet those demands head on without hesitation. My overall goal is lifelong fitness, so I want to be proactive in laying a solid foundation of health while I am still young in order to avoid chronic disease for my lifetime.

I coach because.....I am very passionate about teaching people how important it is to move properly and make positive lifestyle changes. It is so rewarding to see people reach their fitness goals in the gym and know that it will tremendously impact their life outside of the gym in a positive way.

My favorite cheat meal....Cookies, cake, ice cream…basically any sweet dessert.
