About Coach

I tend to keep busy and thankfully my wonderful husband and two awesome kids (adults) support me in all I do, they are my heart. My favorite forms of exercise are CrossFit, running, volleyball, yoga, and martial arts. I struggled throughout life with body image and self-acceptance, searching for the perfect combination of diet and exercise to make me “right”. Turns out there is no quick fix. Consistency is key, and the answer was in education, support, and me. Self-acceptance takes work, once my mindset started straightening out the rest started to fall into place, fueling my body with proper nutrition for fitness not “fit into this”. In 2018 when our son was interested in working out, he and I decided to try out CrossFit 4042. I was apprehensive but after a few WODs I was hooked. I started getting stronger and the gym became my playground, I love the feeling from class and the community. I am in it to be strong for life and want to help others discover their strength and hit their goals. CrossFit is for EVERYONE, just give it a go.

Turning Point

There have been many turning points in my life, both wonderful and challenging, but the one that saved my life, when I didn’t want it saved, was when I admitted I had the disease of addiction and sought help. It had consumed my life and health. I now live a life of recovery and strive for daily wellness in mind, body, and spirit. Living sober is the most amazing gift I have ever been given and I do my best to pass it on to others. Although I have many tools, CrossFit, and other forms of fitness are a part of my recovery, helping with all areas of my life. I had been in CrossFit for a few years when I learned about The Phoenix and was able to combine fitness and sobriety in a community setting. Wanting to help, I earned my L1 to begin coaching a Phoenix class at CrossFit 4042 who opened their doors to us with full support and acceptance. Recovery is not something I can do on my own, if someone reads this and is standing at a similar turning point, I am happy to share my experience.

Motivation & Passion

You are amazing and capable of more than you know! I get so pumped up when I get to be a part of another’s fitness journey and share my joy for CrossFit. Seeing our athletes do things they never thought they could do, push past their own boundaries, and become stronger both physically and mentally is amazing to witness. I want to meet each athlete where they are and help them to move efficiently, providing encouragement, motivation, and direction as they work for and attain their goals.
